Join Us

When we come together as a community we can achieve wonderful things. We are fighting to reduce the worst effects of the climate and nature emergency on our community and further afield, and adapt in the face of it.
We do this with education, action and collaboration.

We need to expand our team, and we would love you to join!

(please note that all roles are voluntary)

Available positions:

Events Team Members

We are looking to build up our events team to give us the ability to hold more events and reach more people. These might be member meetings, nature workshops, schools network workshops, education talks.

If you’re the type of person who is great at organising and wants to make a real difference, please get in touch.

Approx 2 hours a week (or more!)

Social Media Support:

Our comms team are looking to expand! We’re looking for a self-starting individual who shares Greener Henley’s values and wants to help us spread the word.

Joining a team of passionate volunteers, ideally you would have some knowledge of Instagram but this role would be ideal for someone looking to gain experience in social media marketing.

Approx 2 hours a week

Tree Planting Team Lead:

We are looking to try to replace the irreplaceable Patrick Fleming, former Chair of Greener Henley, to head up the tree planting team.  Patrick did an amazing job over the years in making sure thousands of trees and hedges were planted in and around Henley.  Again, if you would like to join the team but you are not keen on leading the team, do still get in touch.

Community Outreach team members:

We are looking for more people to help Diana Barnett with community outreach.  This involves helping with the various activities we provide for our local community, for example: Greener Henley’s Environmental Science Challenge, displays at the public library and supporting activities to make Greener Henley better known in the locality.

You can get in touch to express an interest in any of the above roles on [email protected].

Education

Raising awareness across all sectors of our community – business, schools, individuals, councils

Action

Pushing local and national government decision-makers to make the right choices & legislate FOR climate and nature, as well as acting locally to bolster biodiversity, plant trees & hedges, improve soil – all helping reduce floodwater risk

Collaboration

Actively bringing the community & local groups together, working with existing groups & partners, sharing ideas & projects

If you would like to get involved with Greener Henley but none of the above fits the bill, do still contact us because we would love to have you involved!
