Henley Climate & Nature Hub

One of our dreams at Greener Henley is to have premises within the town centre to
serve as a community hub focussing on all areas of the climate and nature emergency. We would use it to educate and raise awareness of all the issues important to Greener Henley.

Henley Town Council declared a Climate Emergency in 2019. Our aim would be to support the town’s Climate Emergency Working Group by housing exhibitions on – energy efficiency, reducing carbon consumption, improving Henley’s air quality and supporting our ecological recovery. Having a town centre ‘shop’ would mean local people could pop in to find out about and discuss current information and solutions to the green problems that face us. A library of green options could include directories of where to obtain, or how to make, sustainable commodities and choices.

As a community resource we could provide (given large enough premises) a space for local groups to come up with local solutions such as a drop-in Repair Café, space for education workshops for all ages, a meeting space, swap shops, community noticeboard and more. It will be our opportunity to show that the local community can work together to make Henley a greener, cleaner more resilient and healthier place for all who live here.
