Green Screen – X Trillion
Join Greener Henley for a special screening of X Trillion, an eye-opening documentary that follows the gruelling journey of eXXpedition’s all-women crew as they sail 3,000 miles across the North Pacific Ocean.
Their mission? To confront the reality of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, a massive area polluted primarily by microplastics, and to make the unseen, seen.
Following the film, stay for a panel discussion on tackling ocean plastic and what we can do to make a difference.
Chaired by Imogen Grant, Paris Olympic gold medalist in the Lightweight Women’s double sculls, and an Ambassador for the Rivers Trust. Sustainability is incredibly important to Imogen, and she is working to improve sustainability within rowing, but also more widely among sport.
With panel members:
- Lynne Lambourne, a sustainability influencer and founder of Warriors on Waste a Sustainability Tribe of change-makers and concerned citizens. Lynne took part in a virtual Voyage with eXXpedition and gained an in-depth understanding of the true impact of the plastics issue on the oceans.
- Jeremy Gaunt, a veteran journalist, is president-elect of the Henley Rotary Club. One of the club’s aims is to raise awareness of plastic pollution locally and regionally. Hosting plastic blitz events and supporting the ‘End Plastic Soup’ campaign.
- Vikki Chesterman from WRAP a global environmental NGO which is transforming our broken food and product systems and supporting the Global Treaty to end plastic pollution.
Let’s come together to drive change for a plastic-free future and end plastic pollution!
