2026 sees the 100th year in the incredible life of national treasure Sir David Attenborough. Honest, revealing and urgent, A Life On Our Planet is Sir David’s witness statement and his vision for the future. Despite devastating changes wrought by humanity on the natural world, his film carries a message of hope for future generations.
After the film, audiences will have the unique chance to watch a very special, exclusive conversation between Sir David Attenborough and Sir Michael Palin. This will only be available in cinemas.
A life On Our Planet has much to say about how our actions have been detrimental, but its lessons are also about the myriad of solutions we should now pursue. In the words of Sir David, “we need to learn how to work with nature rather than against it”. It is these solutions – and the choices we can collectively take now to secure a better future – that we will focus on during the panel discussion with audience Q&A after the film.

More about the panelists…
Stephanie Wilson: “As a Senior Reserve Manager, I dedicate my career to habitat conservation and community engagement. My daily work balances hands-on land management—including the oversight of conservation grazing sheep flocks—with strategic collaboration alongside key partners and stakeholders. I’m passionate about connecting people to nature and enjoy delivering community engagement events. Together with a dedicated network of volunteers, I work to protect our vital green spaces for future generations.”
Liz Shearer has worked with BBOWT since June 2015 and has had several different roles. She became Director of Community Engagement in January 2021. Liz is really interested in the impact of nature on people and how it improves so many facets of our wellbeing. She has worked in the public sector and charities for over twenty years, working with a variety of audiences, including those living in rural counties and London’s East End.
Liz grew up in a farming family, so was always outdoors from being very young, which probably sparked her interest in nature. Her favourite wildlife spectacle is a starling murmuration. Liz loves to spend as much time outdoors as possible, either walking or just reading in the garden.
