Primary Environmental Science Competition

As with almost every other aspect of life, the competition in 2020 has been dominated by Covid 19 and the response to it. Initially four schools were going to take part in the competition and in the end two dropped out due to time pressure leaving St Mary’s School and Rupert House school in the competition. Both their entries were of the highest standard and the children and their teachers should be commended for the effort that they put in. When it came to the judging we decided that there was nothing to separate the two entries, so we awarded a joint first prize to Rupert House School and St Mary’s School.

We have decided not to run the competition in 2021 because of the uncertainty for the state schools. We will have a good think about the form the competition can take in the future, so that it can be more accessible to all of the primary schools in the area.
