SUMMARY:GBGW 2026 - Green Screen - David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet

Honest\, revealing and urgent\, A Life On Our Planet is Sir David’s witness statement and his vision for the future. Despite devastating changes wrought by humanity on the natural world\, his film carries a message of hope for future generations. \nAfter the film\, audiences will have the unique chance to watch a very special\, exclusive conversation between Sir David Attenborough and Sir Michael Palin. This will only be available in cinemas. \nA life On Our Planet has much to say about how our actions have been detrimental\, but its lessons are also about the myriad of solutions we should now pursue. In the words of Sir David\, “we need to learn how to work with nature rather than against it”. It is these solutions – and the choices we can collectively take now to secure a better future – that we will focus on during the panel discussion with audience Q&A after the film. \nWatch the trailer: \n \nPanel members: \n\nChair Sara Kandiah – Greener Henley Green Screen Coordinator Panelists:\nLiz Shearer – Community Engagement Director for BBOWT\nNicola Schafer -conservation film maker and co-founder of Watlington Climate Action\nand Stephanie Wilson– Senior Reserve Manager\, Aston Rowant National Nature Reserve with Natural England.\n\nMore about the panelists… \n\nStephanie Wilson: “As a Senior Reserve Manager\, I dedicate my career to habitat conservation and community engagement. I’m passionate about connecting people to nature and enjoy delivering community engagement events. Together with a dedicated network of volunteers\, I work to protect our vital green spaces for future generations.” \n\nLiz Shearer \n\nLiz Shearer has worked with BBOWT since June 2015 and has had several different roles.
