SUMMARY:GH WILDLIFE WORKING GROUP - Holy Trinity Churchyard
DESCRIPTION:Date and time: Wednesday 28 January\, 9:30 – 12:30\nMeeting place: in front of Holy Trinity Church\, RG9 1SE\, SU759822\nThings to bring: gardening gloves and garden rakes\, the metal ones used for raking soil will be best\, if you have one. \nWe will continue to cut and collect the long grass. \nI hope you will be able to join us at our sessions in November. If you haven’t already done so\, could I please ask everyone who intends coming to work parties to provide the contact details specified in the table below. Procedures relating to risk assessments require these details to be lodged with the Town Council. They state that ‘All information will be kept safe and confidential.’ \nPlease contact Lex or me if you have any queries. It would be helpful if you could let us know if you are attending a session to help ensure we have enough tools\, tea\, coffee and cake. Lex works for the Town Council on Wednesdays and Thursdays. His work mobile is 07508 427026. \nIf you know anyone else who may be interested\, could you please forward this e-mail to them. If you no longer wish to be reminded about these sessions\, please let me know. \n  \nGreener Henley Wildlife Group sessions \nOur sessions are generally pleasant and sociable occasions. Some of the work is quite strenuous\, but there are always lighter tasks for those who would prefer them\, for whatever reason. We have a break mid-morning when refreshments are provided: tea\, coffee and cake. Please bring your own gardening gloves. Any gardening gloves will be all right for tasks like pulling Himalayan Balsam but heavier ones will be needed for working with brambles. No previous experience is necessary\, and tools are usually provided. Tough clothes and stout footwear are recommended. Marsh Meadows is often wet underfoot so waterproof footwear is recommended when we are working there\, particularly if we are working in the pond area. Volunteers are welcome to join us for the full three hours or any part of them. \nIf you intend coming to work parties and haven’t already provided the information in the table below\, could I please ask you to do so. \n\n\n\nYour Contact Details\n\n\nName:\n \n\n\nAddress:\n \n\n\nHome phone:\n \n\n\nMobile:\n \n\n\nEmail:\n \n\n\nSignature: \n  \n \nDate:

SUMMARY:Weathering the Storm: Rethinking Business for Climate Resilience
DESCRIPTION:Do you know how climate change could disrupt your business—and what steps you can take to protect it?\nMany organisations still aren’t fully prepared. According to the latest ONS Business Insights Survey (Dec 2025)\, only 23% of UK businesses say they’re concerned about the impact of climate change—its lowest level since 2022—highlighting just how far behind we are in adapting and building resilience. \nThe Greener Henley Local Business Group is hosting this event to help local businesses understand the real risks\, learn practical ways to strengthen resilience\, and feel motivated to take proactive action by creating robust Business Resilience Plans. The aim is to equip Henley’s business community with hands‑on strategies to prepare for climate‑related disruptions\, inspire leadership in reducing carbon footprints\, and foster collaboration across our local network. \nThe evening will begin with real‑world stories from businesses that have already faced climate‑driven challenges\, setting the scene for why action matters now. This will be followed by a panel discussion led by Amy Clarke\, Co‑Founder of Tribe Impact Capital and a prominent green campaigner.\nIn the second half of the event\, you’ll join guided round‑table sessions to start shaping your own Business Resilience Plan—leaving with practical next steps tailored to your organisation. \nJoin us to protect your business\, strengthen our community\, and take meaningful action for a more resilient future. \nSincere thanks to Mercers Solicitors and O’Brien Real Estate for supporting this event

SUMMARY:Schools Environmental Science Challenge exhibition
DESCRIPTION:May 13th -19th we have the Old Fire Station Gallery to exhibit all the fantastic entries for this year’s Schools Environmental Science Challenge: “Stop! Look! Listen! Noticing Nature.” There will be more details to come but suffice to say it’s a bit different this year – a Photography Competition is included\, as well as children’s poems entered in the Great Big Green Week Poetry Competition AND we are opening to the public! \nWe are looking for a few more volunteers as Exhibition sitters (2 hours with a friend being inspired by our young people’s talent in an historic building – what could be nicer?) Also we want some very special helpers on the 13th for setting up – and the 19th for dismantling the display. If you think this is something you would like to do to support Greener Henley\, please email greenerhenley@gmail.com and include your phone number.
