Can you express your feelings about the river and why it is important to you and your community or environment? \nYour poem can be any format : maximum 19 lines. \nThere will be 3 age categories: children under 12 years; teens 13 -20 years; adults 21 years or over. \nThere will be £20 Book Token prizes for winners in each category! DESCRIPTION:Join Greener Henley for an inspiring evening as we unveil our ambitious strategy: A Bold New Vision for Henley’s Future. \n\n\nWe’ll be joined by expert guest speakers exploring the crucial role of newly registered charity Greener Henley in tackling the climate and nature emergency\, highlighting how local community action can address these pressing challenges. \nWhile large-scale\, national policies and international agreements are essential\, meaningful change often begins at the grassroots level\, where communities can implement practical solutions tailored to their unique environments. By working together\, communities create a ripple effect—demonstrating successful models that can be scaled up and replicated elsewhere\, ultimately strengthening global efforts to combat climate change and nature loss. \nGreener Henley is Henley’s local climate and nature action charity\, which seeks to bring our community together to make meaningful change. \nOur expert panel will consist of: \n\nProfessor Christopher Merchant (Professor in Ocean and Earth Observation\, University of Reading) – Understanding the science at a local level\nLouisa Reeve (ecologist and former Team GB rower) – The role of nature in our environment\, and how it’s changing\nTim Hoskins (headteacher at Badgemore Primary School\, Henley-on-Thames) – How schools can inspire change\n\n\nCome along to find out how local community action can make a difference\, and how together we can create a greener\, cleaner\, and safer Henley for future generations.  \nDoors open at 7pm\n7:30pm – 8:45pm: Strategy launch and panel discussion including Q&A\n8:45pm – 9:30pm: Drinks\, nibbles and conversation
