Reuse & Repair

Use again or make like new

Think twice before throwing things out – can I reuse, share or swap? If you have something that needs repairing, take it along to Henley Repair Cafe  and have a cuppa and cake whilst fixing! They run monthly at the YMCA Pavilion, the third Saturday of the month, 10.30-12.30. Items they can repair include household machines and appliances, garden equipment, furniture, bicycles, textiles and clothing, plus they offer a knife and drill sharpening service – all for free!

  • Recycling is important, but reducing, reusing and repairing are even better. Many plastics can only be processed a limited number of times before they lose quality, so avoiding waste in the first place has the biggest impact. When things can’t be reused or repaired, it helps to know what can and can’t be recycled locally – and where it actually goes afterwards.
  • Get answers to your recycling questions and find out what your local council collection accepts
  • Learn more about what actually happens to our waste locally with this webinar from Henley Rotary on recycling
